my medical philosophy

Working with patients is the best part of my job. Everybody is different, and my job is twofold: to maintain a connection with my patients, and to bring them the most accurate and up-to-date care possible. My job requires me to understand the underlying science and to be able to relate to people so that I can help them understand exactly what is happening with their eyes. Patient visits invariably end with me asking “Do you have any other questions?” The visit doesn’t end until all of their questions are answered. For those with ongoing eye problems, I like to update them at the beginning of each visit regarding their condition and what we’ll be looking for. I also like to explain how their eye condition may be related to other health conditions, and how other medical conditions or medicines may affect the eyes. I also love keeping up with general medicine because it helps me to see my patient’s health in a broader perspective.
